Salary Range: $62,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and repair complex tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and specifications to create precise components.
• Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools, including CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
• Perform precision grinding, fitting, and assembly of tool and die components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tooling and manufacturing processes.
• Inspect and measure finished parts to ensure they meet strict tolerances and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling performance and manufacturability.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or in a similar machining role.
• Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining equipment (e.g., lathes, milling machines, grinders).
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, bore gauges).
• Knowledge of various tool steels and heat treatment processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair tooling and dies effectively.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for mold design and programming
• - Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) processes
• - Knowledge of heat treatment processes for tooling
• - Familiarity with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation and programming
• - Basic welding skills for tool repair
