Salary Range: $84,000 - $124,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications for various manufacturing processes.
• Oversee and optimize welding operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot welding-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables based on material, design, and production requirements.
• Conduct welding performance tests, inspections, and quality control checks to ensure compliance with standards.
• Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, safety procedures, and new welding technologies.
• Collaborate with design engineers and production teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of components.
• Research and evaluate new welding technologies and materials to improve production capabilities and product quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in welding process selection, development, and optimization in a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW, Resistance Welding) and their applications.
• Familiarity with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO) and their implementation.
• Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation of results.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, material properties, and their impact on weldability.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with advanced welding processes such as electron beam welding or friction stir welding
• - Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation of results
• - Certification in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
• - Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for weld simulation and fixture design
