Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes for precision part production.
• Perform in-process quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators.
• Load raw material bar stock and ensure proper machine feeding and material handling.
• Monitor machine performance, identify malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments to offsets and tooling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and work instructions to ensure product specifications are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms, tool wear, and part quality issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety protocols.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of direct experience operating CNC Swiss-type lathes (e.g., Star, Citizen, Tsugami).
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and applying GD&T principles.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for in-process inspection.
• Ability to perform tool offsets, change tools, and execute basic G-code/M-code edits.
• Proven capability in machine setup, troubleshooting, and maintaining tight tolerances.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAM software (e.g., Esprit, PartMaker) or advanced G-code programming.
• Proficiency in advanced metrology tools (e.g., CMM, optical comparator, surface finish profilometer).
• Proven ability to perform preventative maintenance or basic machine troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
