Salary Range: $58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and CAD files to determine project scope and requirements.
• Calculate accurate material, labor, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Prepare detailed and competitive quotations for customers based on estimated costs.
• Source and obtain pricing for raw materials, components, and outsourced services from suppliers.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to validate estimates and optimize processes.
• Identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities affecting cost and production schedules.
• Maintain and update cost databases, historical project data, and pricing models.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and material specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material costs, labor rates, and overhead calculations.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/MRP systems or specialized estimating software.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related technical field.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for cost analysis.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD) for part analysis.
• APICS or other relevant supply chain/operations certifications.
