Salary Range: $73,000 - $112,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine product designs using CAD software and engineering principles.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) to optimize production processes.
• Select appropriate materials and components, considering cost, performance, and availability.
• Conduct design calculations, simulations, and FEA to validate product performance and integrity.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve production issues and implement design improvements.
• Support the prototyping, testing, and validation of new and revised designs.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for part, assembly, and detailed drawing creation.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and their impact on design.
• Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Knowledge of material properties, selection, and application in a manufacturing context.

Bonus Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, or assembly of mechanical components.
• Proficiency with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with specific manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC machining, or additive manufacturing.
