CNC Machinist | Ludington, MI

Salary Range: $44,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machinery (mills, lathes, etc.) according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs.
• Load raw materials and unload finished parts from CNC machines.
• Perform in-process and final quality checks using precision measuring instruments.
• Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code for machine programming and editing.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, bore gauges).
• Ability to perform tool changes, offsets, and basic troubleshooting of machine operations.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam, Fusion 360)
• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators)
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies
• Welding or general fabrication experience
