Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Operate and program various machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines.
  • Interpret complex engineering blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications.
  • Perform meticulous measurements and inspections using precision instruments to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot tooling malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tool performance and manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship program or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in operating and setting up conventional machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders) and CNC equipment.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and use precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong understanding of metal properties, tooling principles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain precision tooling and dies.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency with advanced CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
  • Experience operating and programming EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Certification or proven experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation.
