Weld Technician | Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Perform various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick) on a variety of materials and thicknesses.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
• Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications using various inspection methods.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment, including welders, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues, adjusting parameters as needed to achieve desired results.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize welding procedures and improve product design.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• AWS Certified Welder (CW) certification or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing welding
• Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics
• Experience with various welding processes (MIG, TIG, STICK)
• Ability to perform quality checks and troubleshoot welding issues

Bonus Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification
• Experience with robotic welding systems
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering blueprints and schematics
• Familiarity with NDT methods (e.g., VT, PT, MT)
