Salary Range: $84,000 - $124,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Rockford that are seeking Welding Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding procedures for various manufacturing processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
• Specify and qualify welding equipment, consumables, and robotic systems.
• Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and production staff.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and customer specifications.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for welding quality, cost, and efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, with a focus on welding processes.
• Proficient in various welding techniques (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW) and their applications.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy, material science, and their impact on weld quality.
• Experience with NDT methods and interpreting results.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).

Bonus Qualifications

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
• Experience with robotic welding systems and automation
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design and analysis
• Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods beyond visual inspection
