Salary Range: $72,000 - $111,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Designs and develops tooling, fixtures, and jigs for manufacturing processes.
- Collaborates with design and production teams to optimize tooling for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective actions for tooling-related issues.
- Manages tooling projects from concept to production, including vendor selection and budget control.
- Establishes and maintains tooling specifications, documentation, and maintenance schedules.
- Implements new technologies and processes to improve tooling performance and extend lifespan.
- Provides technical support and training to manufacturing personnel on tooling usage and best practices.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tool design and simulation.
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, injection molding, CNC machining) and their tooling requirements.
- Experience with tool life management, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of material science for tooling applications, including steels, carbides, and coatings.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for mold design and analysis (e.g., SolidWorks, Catia, Moldflow).
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond injection molding, such as stamping, casting, or machining.
- Knowledge of automation and robotics in tooling operations.
- Certification in a relevant area, such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
- Ability to speak multiple languages, especially those relevant to international suppliers or customers.
