Tooling Engineer | Battle Creek, MI
Salary Range: $70,000 - $109,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Battle Creek seeking Tooling Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and optimizes tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
- Analyzes production issues and implements tooling solutions to improve efficiency and quality.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality, on new product introduction and existing product improvements.
- Manages tooling lifecycle, including procurement, maintenance, repair, and replacement.
- Conducts root cause analysis of tooling failures and implements corrective and preventative actions.
- Evaluates and recommends new tooling technologies and materials to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Develops and maintains detailed tooling documentation, including specifications, drawings, and maintenance procedures.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven expertise in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, injection molding, die casting) and their associated tooling requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues, improving efficiency and reducing downtime.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for mold design and manufacturing (e.g., SolidWorks, Catia, Mastercam).
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond injection molding, such as stamping, casting, or machining.
- Knowledge of metrology and inspection techniques for tooling verification (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
- Certification in a relevant field, such as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or a Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE).
- Experience with simulation software for mold flow analysis or structural analysis of tooling components.
