Salary Range: $62,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Kentwood that are seeking skilled Tool Makers. Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, alter, and repair a wide range of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate conventional and CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM.
• Perform precision measurements using various inspection tools to ensure part conformity.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on tooling to minimize downtime.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program as a Tool Maker or equivalent experience
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of various machining processes, tools, and materials
• Demonstrated ability to operate and program manual and CNC machinery
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CNC programming (G-code).
• CAD/CAM software proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
• Metrology experience using CMMs or laser trackers.
• Robotics or automation experience in a manufacturing setting.
