Salary Range: $72,000 - $111,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Coopersville region seeking Tooling Engineers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and develops tooling, fixtures, and jigs for manufacturing processes.
• Collaborates with design and production teams to optimize tooling for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Conducts root cause analysis of tooling failures and implements corrective actions.
• Manages tooling inventory, maintenance schedules, and procurement.
• Implements and maintains tooling standards and documentation.
• Evaluates new tooling technologies and materials for potential application.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in tooling design, manufacturing, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tooling design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes, materials, and their impact on tooling design and performance.
• Experience with CNC machining, EDM, grinding, and other toolroom equipment.
• Knowledge of GD&T, metrology, and quality control principles applied to tooling.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for mold design and analysis (e.g., SolidWorks, Catia, Moldflow).
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes beyond injection molding, such as stamping, casting, or machining.
• Familiarity with automation and robotics in a manufacturing setting.
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
