Accounts Payable / Receivable Specialist | DeWitt, MI

Salary Range: $49,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across the DeWitt area seeking Accounts Payable / Receivable Specialists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Usual Responsibilities

• Prepare and run weekly check and electronic payment runs.
• Apply customer payments to open invoices and reconcile cash receipts.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
• Prepare accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on past due balances.
• Reconcile vendor statements and monthly AP and AR ledger accounts.
• Maintain vendor and customer master files and supporting documentation.
• Process vendor invoices and match them to purchase orders and receiving records.
• Enter invoices and payment data into the accounting system.

Recommended Qualifications

• Working knowledge of three-way matching and standard AP and AR cycles.
• Proficiency with ERP or accounting software and intermediate Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with high volume transaction processing.
• Clear written and verbal communication for vendor and internal follow up.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or business preferred.
• Two or more years of accounts payable or accounts receivable experience, ideally in manufacturing.

Bonus Qualifications

• Exposure to cost accounting or inventory related transactions.
• Familiarity with sales and use tax and 1099 reporting.
• Associate or bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• Prior experience in a plant or production environment.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Epicor.
