Quality Engineer | Hart, MI

Salary Range: $70,000 - $104,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for non-conformances, driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools for process monitoring and improvement.
  • Perform internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality into product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Investigate customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution and implementation of preventive measures.
  • Manage measurement system analysis (MSA) and calibration programs for production equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in core quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, Root Cause Analysis, 8D).
  • Strong understanding and application of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949).
  • Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and data-driven problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and interact effectively with cross-functional teams.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
  • Experience with specific industry quality standards (e.g., ISO 13485, AS9100, IATF 16949)
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems for quality data management
