Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling-related issues.
  • Manage the maintenance, repair, and calibration of production tools and dies.
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams on new product tooling requirements and integration.
  • Specify, procure, and qualify new tooling from external vendors, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling performance, lifespan, and efficiency.
  • Ensure all tooling adheres to safety standards, quality specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam) for tool design and CNC programming.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, or machining.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, development, and troubleshooting of production tooling (molds, dies, jigs, fixtures).
  • Knowledge of GD&T, material science, and heat treatment relevant to tooling applications.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling-related issues.
  • Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to optimize tooling solutions.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, Mold Flow analysis).
  • Knowledge of additive manufacturing techniques for tooling applications.
  • Project management experience for tooling development or modification projects.
