Salary Range: $49,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies using various metrology equipment.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of measurement tools and gauges.
  • Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other automated inspection systems.
  • Document all inspection results, calibration data, and equipment maintenance records accurately.
  • Identify and resolve measurement discrepancies, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of metrology processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies and other measurement system analyses.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in operating and calibrating various precision measuring instruments (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) for programming and data analysis.
  • Solid understanding of measurement principles, calibration standards, and measurement uncertainty.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and laboratory accreditation (ISO 17025).
  • Technical degree or certification in metrology, quality assurance, or a related technical field.

Bonus Qualifications

  • CMM programming proficiency (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
  • ASME GDTP Certification (Technologist or Senior Level)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 accreditation requirements
