Salary Range: $52,000 - $79,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and program CMMs, optical comparators, and other precision measurement equipment.
  • Perform dimensional inspections of manufactured parts, assemblies, and tooling using various metrology tools.
  • Analyze measurement data, interpret results, and generate detailed inspection reports.
  • Conduct routine calibration and maintenance of metrology equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and improve part quality.
  • Develop and optimize CMM programs and measurement methodologies for new and existing products.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspection data, calibration activities, and equipment service logs.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, CMMs).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and related metrology software.
  • Understanding of calibration principles and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Advanced CMM programming proficiency (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
  • Experience with non-contact metrology systems (e.g., laser scanners, optical profilers, CT scanning)
  • ASME GD&T Professional Certification (GDTP)
  • Proficiency with Statistical Process Control (SPC) software and analysis
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100)
