Salary Range: $52,000 - $79,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, maintenance, and verification of precision measurement equipment and instruments.
• Conduct accurate dimensional inspections of manufactured components and assemblies using CMMs, optical comparators, and hand tools.
• Analyze measurement data, identify discrepancies, and generate detailed inspection reports for quality assurance and engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement accuracy, equipment functionality, and process deviations.
• Develop, maintain, and update metrology procedures, work instructions, and calibration schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality departments to improve measurement methods and product quality.
• Ensure all metrology activities comply with industry standards, internal specifications, and quality management systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating and interpreting data from precision measurement equipment (e.g., CMMs, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers).
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated understanding of metrology principles, calibration processes, and measurement uncertainty.
• Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and associated software.
• Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a metrology or quality inspection role within a manufacturing setting.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, PolyWorks) or multi-sensor metrology systems.
• Familiarity with fixture design and development for measurement applications.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for process capability studies or Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies as applied to quality and metrology processes.
• Experience with automated or in-line inspection solutions and data integration.
