Salary Range: $62,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges using various materials.
• Operate and set up a range of manual and CNC machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.
• Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine precise dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform meticulous measurements using metrology equipment to ensure tooling meets strict quality specifications.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with existing production tooling to maintain operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tool design and improve manufacturing processes.
• Maintain and calibrate tooling equipment, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Journeyman Tool Maker certification or equivalent apprenticeship completion.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in tool and die making, maintenance, and repair.
• Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and using precision measuring instruments.
• Demonstrated expertise in operating manual and CNC machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM).
• Strong understanding of various tooling materials, heat treatment processes, and surface finishes.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex tooling issues.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for tooling design and programming.
• Experience operating and/or programming CNC machine tools.
• Knowledge of advanced metrology techniques and equipment (e.g., CMM operation).
• Experience with welding and fabrication for tool repair and modification.
