The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select new suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to achieve optimal value.
• Issue and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production to ensure material availability and minimize stockouts.
• Identify and implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or supply.
• Ensure all procured materials comply with quality standards and engineering specifications.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance, addressing issues related to quality or delivery.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) for procurement and inventory management.
• Proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain principles.
• Demonstrated ability to identify cost savings and improve supplier performance.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced data analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for spend analysis.
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Proven track record in international sourcing and logistics management.
• Prior experience with supplier quality audits or development initiatives.
