Salary Range: $56,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and validate CMM inspection programs from CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and CAD data to define measurement strategies.
  • Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) and in-process inspections using CMM equipment.
  • Analyze measurement data, identify non-conformances, and generate detailed inspection reports.
  • Select and configure appropriate probes, fixtures, and measurement routines for diverse part geometries.
  • Troubleshoot and debug CMM programs, resolve measurement discrepancies, and optimize inspection processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure measurement accuracy and efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and 3D CAD models.
  • Strong understanding of metrology principles and measurement techniques.
  • Experience in a precision manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners, profilometers)
  • Proficiency in CAD software for fixture design or model manipulation
  • Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis tools
  • Ability to develop and deliver GD&T training to manufacturing personnel
