Quality Inspector | Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Document inspection results accurately, including completing inspection reports and logs.
• Identify, quarantine, and report non-conforming materials or products to relevant departments.
• Utilize and maintain various precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Ensure adherence to engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Communicate quality issues and potential improvements to production and engineering teams.
• Maintain a clean and organized inspection workstation and equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of quality control methodologies and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Excellent attention to detail and observational skills for defect identification.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing quality inspection or assurance role.
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and report generation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, vision systems).
• Certification or practical experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis.
• Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
