Salary Range: $68,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate new packaging solutions for manufacturing products.
• Select appropriate packaging materials considering cost, performance, and sustainability.
• Conduct packaging performance testing and create detailed technical specifications.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and supply chain to integrate packaging into manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot packaging issues on the production line to minimize downtime and waste.
• Ensure all packaging designs comply with industry regulations and quality standards.
• Identify and implement cost reduction and efficiency improvements in packaging.
• Manage packaging projects from concept through to full production implementation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in packaging engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of various packaging materials (e.g., plastics, paperboard, flexibles) and manufacturing packaging equipment/processes.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for packaging design and specification.
• Demonstrated ability to manage packaging development projects from concept to production, including knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Experience with packaging line automation and robotics integration
• Proficiency in advanced packaging simulation software (e.g., CAPE, TOPS, or FEA tools)
• Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) designation
