Staff Accountant | Holland, MI

Salary Range: $57,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank, inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, adhering to strict deadlines.
• Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed, including invoice processing and payment application.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts and assist with inventory valuation and reconciliation.
• Prepare financial reports and variance analyses for management review.
• Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during financial audits.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with ERP systems common in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• - Familiarity with cost accounting principles and variance analysis.
• - Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables, macros).
• - Knowledge of inventory valuation methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, weighted-average).
• - CPA or CMA certification in progress.
