Salary Range: $85,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize laser welding processes for manufacturing applications.
- Troubleshoot laser weld defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Specify, install, and qualify new laser welding equipment and tooling.
- Establish and maintain robust laser welding process parameters and documentation.
- Conduct root cause analysis for welding failures and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure weldability of new product designs.
- Provide technical expertise and training to production staff on laser welding operations.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of laser welding principles, processes, and equipment (e.g., fiber, YAG, CO2).
- Proven experience in laser weld process development, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of metallurgy, material science, and their impact on laser weld quality and defect analysis.
- Familiarity with weld inspection techniques, quality control, and relevant industry standards (e.g., AWS, ISO).
- Experience with automation, robotics, and fixture design for laser welding applications.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with robotic programming and automation for integrated laser welding systems.
- Proficiency in advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for weld inspection (e.g., CT scanning, ultrasonic testing).
- Familiarity with welding simulation software (e.g., Sysweld, Simufact Welding).
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
