Salary Range: $84,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the development and implementation of APQP/PPAP activities for new product introductions and engineering changes.
  • Drive problem-solving initiatives using methodologies like 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with IATF 16949 requirements through internal audits, system maintenance, and participation in external audits.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain control plans, FMEAs, and statistical process control (SPC) techniques to ensure robust manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials, manage supplier performance, and conduct supplier audits.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and lead continuous improvement projects to reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
  • Act as a primary contact for customer quality concerns, facilitating communication and resolution of issues.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in IATF 16949 standards and their practical application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in AIAG Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using methodologies like 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • Certified IATF 16949 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within an automotive manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
  • Experience in supplier quality development and advanced supplier assessments
  • Familiarity with specific OEM customer quality portals or requirements (e.g., GM BIQS, Ford Q1)
