Salary Range: $55,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and edit CNC programs for lathe machines using CAD/CAM software.
  • Select optimal tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for various materials and part geometries.
  • Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and work instructions for machine operators.
  • Optimize existing CNC programs to improve cycle times, part quality, and material yield.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, program errors, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, operators, and quality control to ensure production efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct program validation and perform first article inspections to verify part specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for CNC lathe programming (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
  • Expertise in G-code and M-code programming, including manual editing and optimization.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, including GD&T.
  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, workholding, and various material properties.
  • Demonstrated experience in process optimization, troubleshooting, and quality control for lathe operations.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency in G-code simulation and verification software (e.g., Vericut).
  • Hands-on CNC machining or setup experience.
  • Experience with multi-axis turning, live tooling, or sub-spindle programming.
  • Familiarity with fixture design or custom workholding solutions.
