Salary Range: $79,000 - $124,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test embedded hardware and firmware for manufacturing automation and control systems.
  • Integrate embedded systems with existing production machinery, robotics, and SCADA/MES platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex embedded system issues on the factory floor to minimize production downtime.
  • Optimize embedded software for real-time performance, reliability, and efficiency in industrial environments.
  • Develop and implement sensor interfaces and motor control algorithms for precision manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, production) to define system requirements and ensure seamless deployment.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for embedded system designs, test procedures, and operational guides.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
  • Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN bus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Ability to read schematics, debug hardware, and work with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) principles.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET).
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) for embedded hardware.
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508) for industrial applications.
  • Experience integrating embedded systems with SCADA, MES, or PLC platforms.
  • Proficiency in developing automated test fixtures for production environments.
