Staff Accountant | Mount Pleasant, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Mount Pleasant region seeking Staff Accountants. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates - not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Usual Responsibilities

• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Prepare and post journal entries for month end close.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold analysis.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• to 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• CPA or CMA certification or progress toward certification.
• Experience with cost accounting and inventory valuation.
