Salary Range: $58,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and builds intricate dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures.
• Operates a variety of machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.
• Interprets blueprints, schematics, and CAD models to determine specifications and sequences of operations.
• Performs precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators.
• Troubleshoots and repairs existing dies and tooling to maintain production efficiency.
• Selects appropriate materials and heat treatments for tool longevity and performance.
• Collaborates with engineers and production personnel to optimize tool designs and manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in progressive die making, maintenance, and repair.
• Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, EDMs).
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve complex tooling issues.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CNC machining and programming
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
• Ability to perform basic welding and fabrication
• Certification in a related field (e.g., metallurgy, metrology)
