Salary Range: $65,000 - $100,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Allendale that are seeking Tool and Die Makers. Key Responsibilities

• Design and build new tools, dies, and fixtures.
• Repair and maintain existing tooling to ensure production efficiency.
• Operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine tooling specifications.
• Perform precision measurements using instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize tooling designs and processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a certified apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
• Proven ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong proficiency in operating manual and CNC machinery (lathes, mills, grinders)
• Demonstrated expertise in precision measurement tools and techniques
• Solid understanding of various metals, their properties, and machining characteristics

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam)
• Familiarity with metrology equipment and software (e.g., CMM, optical comparators)
• Proficiency in CNC programming and operation
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience with additive manufacturing technologies (e.g., 3D printing for tooling inserts)
