Salary Range: $71,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Mattawan seeking Tooling Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop tooling for new product introduction and existing product improvements.
• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify tooling needs and recommend solutions for efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and production requirements.
• Manage tooling projects from concept to completion, including budget, timeline, and resource allocation.
• Perform root cause analysis on tooling failures and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct tooling trials and validations, making adjustments as necessary to optimize performance.
• Maintain and update tooling documentation, including drawings, specifications, and maintenance procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tooling design and simulation
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes, materials, and their impact on tooling performance
• Experience with tool room operations, including machining, assembly, and maintenance
• Knowledge of GD&T and its application in tooling design and inspection

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for tooling design and simulation
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond injection molding (e.g., stamping, casting, CNC machining)
• Knowledge of advanced materials for tooling applications (e.g., high-performance alloys, ceramics, composites)
• Certification in relevant areas like GD&T, Six Sigma, or specialized software
