Staff Accountant | Allendale, MI

Salary Range: $61,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• - Oversee and execute daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• - Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• - Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
• - Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• - Support inventory accounting, including valuation, cycle counts, and variance analysis.
• - Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure accurate costing of goods sold.
• - Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• - Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control policies.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory valuation and cost of goods sold calculations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and their accounting implications
• - Familiarity with cost accounting software or ERP systems beyond basic accounting modules
• - Certification in Cost Accounting (e.g., CMA) or Public Accounting (e.g., CPA)
