Supplier Quality Engineer | St. Johns, MI
Salary Range: $81,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supplier quality assurance programs and procedures.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Monitor supplier performance through data analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, including non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in their quality processes and product reliability.
- Review and approve supplier documentation, including quality plans, inspection reports, and material certifications.
- Participate in new product introduction (NPI) processes to ensure supplier readiness and product quality.
- Manage incoming material inspection and testing processes to verify compliance with requirements.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in supplier quality management, auditing, and performance monitoring within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for effective supplier collaboration and problem-solving.
- Experience with supplier qualification, development, and corrective action processes.
Bonus Qualifications
- - Experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- - Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) software.
- - Familiarity with automotive industry quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
- - Experience with root cause analysis tools like 8D or Fishbone diagrams.
- - Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
