Salary Range: $68,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize packaging solutions for new and existing products.
  • Select and evaluate packaging materials for cost-effectiveness, protection, and sustainability.
  • Conduct packaging performance testing, validation, and provide detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and marketing teams to integrate packaging solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for packaging processes and materials to reduce costs and waste.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive packaging specifications and documentation.
  • Ensure all packaging complies with industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in packaging engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of various packaging materials (plastics, paperboard, glass, metal) and their manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in packaging design software (e.g., CAD) and experience with packaging performance testing (ISTA, ASTM).
  • Familiarity with packaging industry regulations, quality standards, and supply chain principles.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with sustainable packaging materials and design principles.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or CAPM certification.
  • Proficiency with packaging line automation and robotics integration.
  • Advanced proficiency in packaging optimization software (e.g., CAPE, TOPS).
