Salary Range: $51,000 - $81,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment, including wire and/or sinker machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to determine machining operations.
• Load and unload workpieces, ensuring proper alignment and secure fixturing.
• Monitor machine performance, making adjustments to parameters (e.g., power, pulse duration) as needed.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring tools.
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of EDM machines and electrodes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions or program errors.
• Document production activities, including cycle times and part counts.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience operating and setting up Wire EDM or Sinker EDM machines.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, optical comparators) for quality inspection.
• Solid understanding of EDM principles, tooling, and operational parameters.
• Aptitude for troubleshooting machine issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for reviewing part designs or programming.
• Experience with advanced metrology equipment such as CMMs or optical comparators.
• Background in tool & die or mold making processes.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to perform minor machine maintenance or advanced troubleshooting beyond routine tasks.
