Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Select and install appropriate electrodes, wire, and tooling for each machining operation.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions or programming errors.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on EDM machines and associated equipment.
• Adjust machine parameters (e.g., power, pulse duration, gap) to optimize machining processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience operating Wire and/or Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for quality control.
• Demonstrated ability to set up EDM machines, including fixturing, electrode/wire installation, and parameter adjustments.
• Basic understanding of EDM principles, material properties, and their effects on machining outcomes.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit) for EDM programming.
• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator).
• Basic understanding of G-code for troubleshooting and minor program edits.
• Prior experience with other precision machining processes (e.g., CNC milling, grinding).
