Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot multi-axis CNC Swiss-type lathes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and technical specifications to produce parts.
• Perform in-process and final quality inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Monitor machine operation, adjust offsets, and replace worn tooling to maintain part quality.
• Load raw material and unload finished parts efficiently to ensure continuous production.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and cleaning on assigned machinery.
• Document production data, quality measurements, and machine adjustments accurately.

Recommended Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss Lathes (e.g., Star, Citizen, Tsugami).
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators).
• Ability to perform tooling changes, offsets, and make minor program edits (G-code/M-code) to optimize part quality.
• Strong understanding of in-process quality control, identifying non-conforming parts, and maintaining tight tolerance specifications.
• Experience with various materials common in Swiss machining, such as stainless steel, titanium, and plastics.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
• Proficiency in G-code/M-code programming and optimization for Swiss machines.
• Demonstrated ability to perform preventative maintenance and minor machine repairs.
• Familiarity with CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit) for program verification or editing.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives.
