Quality Technician | Muskegon, MI

Salary Range: $44,000 - $67,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
• Document inspection and test results, maintaining accurate quality records.
• Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate actions.
• Operate and maintain various inspection and measurement equipment, ensuring proper calibration.
• Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Support the quality management system (QMS) through audits and process improvements.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality discrepancies.

Recommended Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical certification or Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality control or assurance role.
• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and interpreting technical drawings/blueprints.
• Solid understanding of quality inspection methods, basic statistical process control (SPC), and non-conformance procedures.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and accurate documentation skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification
• Experience with CMM operation or programming
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab)
• Internal auditing experience (e.g., ISO 9001)
• Calibration experience for measurement equipment
