Quality Engineer | Portage, MI

Salary Range: $71,000 - $105,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures for manufacturing processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis for quality defects and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Perform product and process audits to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to integrate quality requirements into new product development and existing processes.
• Manage and improve measurement systems analysis (MSA) and statistical process control (SPC) activities.
• Analyze quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with industry quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and customer specific requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in quality tools such as SPC, MSA, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or other relevant quality management systems (e.g., IATF 16949, AS9100).
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and/or Six Sigma methodologies.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• Proficiency with advanced statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
• Experience in developing automated data analytics and visualization dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Lead Auditor for relevant ISO standards
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) principles
