Engineering Manager | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $112,000 - $161,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Manage engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and R&D departments to resolve technical issues and support operational goals.
• Ensure all engineering designs and manufacturing processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Develop and manage the engineering department's budget and resource allocation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing) with 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, including performance management and professional development.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects from conception to completion, on time and within budget.
• Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficient in troubleshooting complex manufacturing processes and equipment, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
• Experience implementing Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IoT, AI/ML, digital twins) in a manufacturing environment.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Demonstrated proficiency in advanced data analytics or simulation software for process optimization.
