Salary Range: $68,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Newaygo that are seeking skilled Design Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize product designs using CAD software for manufacturability and performance.
• Generate detailed engineering drawings and specifications in accordance with industry standards.
• Conduct design calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate design integrity and functionality.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and smooth production.
• Participate in prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs and design improvements.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on design requirements, cost, and performance.
• Identify and implement design improvements for existing products to enhance performance, reduce cost, or improve reliability.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for mechanical design.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Knowledge of material selection, properties, and their application in manufacturing environments.
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean or Six Sigma certification/experience
• Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, CFD)
• Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
• Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
