Salary Range: $66,000 - $99,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Traverse City that are seeking skilled Cost Accountants. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard product costs.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and overhead.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to management.
• Forecast future costs and provide input for budgeting processes.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold accounts.
• Assist with month-end close activities related to cost accounting.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
