Salary Range: $59,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build new dies, tools, and fixtures.
• Repair and maintain existing dies and tooling.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM machines.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to create precision components.
• Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related production issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams on design improvements and new product development.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in tool and die making
• Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of machining processes, including milling, turning, grinding, and EDM
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam)
• Familiarity with metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators)
• Certification in a relevant skilled trade (e.g., CNC Machining, Welding)
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair automated machinery
