Salary Range: $78,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize welding procedures and parameters for manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and materials.
  • Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and manufacturing personnel.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations for welding operations.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to optimize weldability of new product designs.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and their application to welding.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Experience with welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS, ASME).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot welding defects and implement corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with robotic welding systems and automation.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software for fixture design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of NDT methods and their application in manufacturing.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
