Quoting Specialist | Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $59,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across the Whitehall area seeking Quoting Specialists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Usual Responsibilities

• Build cost breakdowns for labor, material, tooling, and freight.
• Submit quotes to customers and track their status through follow up.
• Update quoted pricing when drawings or quantities change.
• Maintain a quote log and keep records of past and pending quotes.
• Work with engineering and production to confirm lead times and feasibility.
• Compare actual job costs to quoted costs after order award.
• Review customer drawings and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Request material and outside process pricing from approved suppliers.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience preparing quotes or estimates in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong spreadsheet skills for building and checking cost models.
• Familiarity with machining, fabrication, or assembly processes.
• Attention to detail and comfort working with numbers under deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication with customers and suppliers.

Bonus Qualifications

• Background in purchasing or supply chain.
• Associate or bachelor degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
• Experience quoting for aerospace, defense, or automotive customers.
• Experience with ERP or quoting software.
• Knowledge of material grades and mill pricing.
