Supplier Quality Engineer | Mason, MI
Salary Range: $80,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supplier quality assurance programs and procedures.
- Conduct supplier audits (on-site and remote) to assess their quality systems and compliance.
- Review and approve supplier process documentation, including PFMEAs and control plans.
- Manage supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and regular reviews.
- Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, including non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal engineering and purchasing teams to select and qualify new suppliers.
- Ensure incoming materials and components from suppliers meet established specifications and quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.) or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in supplier quality management, auditing, and corrective action implementation within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and relevant quality tools (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience using statistical software or tools.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
Bonus Qualifications
- - Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
- - Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) software.
- - Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).
- - Knowledge of advanced product quality planning (APQP) methodologies.
- - Experience in the automotive or aerospace manufacturing sectors.
