Salary Range: $48,000 - $74,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products against specifications.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM) to verify product conformity.
  • Document inspection results accurately, create inspection reports, and maintain detailed quality records.
  • Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate corrective action procedures.
  • Conduct first-article inspections and provide immediate feedback to production and engineering teams.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to established quality standards, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Assist in the investigation of root causes for quality defects and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM).
  • Strong understanding of quality control methodologies and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills.
  • Proficient in documenting inspection results and generating quality reports.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation or programming
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
  • Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies and software
  • ASQ certification (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector, Certified Quality Technician)
