Salary Range: $51,000 - $78,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Process multi-state, multi-frequency payroll for a manufacturing workforce, including hourly and salaried employees.
  • Accurately calculate and process wages, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Manage and maintain employee payroll records, ensuring data accuracy for new hires, terminations, and changes.
  • Administer and troubleshoot time and attendance systems (e.g., time clocks, Kronos), ensuring accurate recording of employee hours and leave.
  • Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, union agreements, and company policies.
  • Reconcile payroll data prior to transmission and validate post-processing reports for accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit required payroll reports for management, accounting, and auditors.
  • Process and administer garnishments, benefits deductions, 401k contributions, and other voluntary deductions.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of direct payroll processing experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with enterprise payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Workday) and integrated time & attendance solutions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, FLSA, and wage and hour compliance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll and familiarity with shift differentials, overtime calculations, and union contracts.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with payroll for multi-shift operations, including shift differentials and production bonuses.
  • Proficiency with time & attendance systems common in manufacturing (e.g., Kronos, UKG Ready).
  • Basic understanding of general ledger reconciliation related to payroll.
  • Exposure to HRIS modules beyond core payroll (e.g., benefits, leave management).
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing in a manufacturing context.
